Parenting Through Demon Video Calls

Some parents are disciplining their young children by using 'demon video calls.' I know the fact that parenting is not easy to fulfill. But this option is not a good thing. It is a fact that parents use them in some Asian countries now. In my mind, it can cause traumatic episodes for their children. Scaring them is not the best idea to discipline them. Do you believe it's an acceptable approach, or do you disagree? Image Credit: m.media-amazon.com

Avoid using demon video calls on children since I grew up scared seeing horror movies and television shows that dealt with demons.

@Shavkat That is true since children will grow up fearing their own shadows.

I think this is terrible. There will be some truly traumatised kids around if this becomes an accepted practice.

I totally agree with you. I cannot understand why some parents are doing this. I was surprised that it happens in South Korea and even in Japan. This is what I learned from my Japanese student.

@JudyEv You said it right. It is an excuse for them to go for this idea.

@Shavkat It seems to me they are taking the easy way out and avoiding having to discipline their own children.

I've never heard of something like that before... I don't see/know how that would even work.

It happens in South Korea and Japan. Although I just read from an article this morning. In fact, it was the lesson of one of my Korean students.

I don't see how that would work as kids are very good at figuring things out

I can imagine how children will react if they see or even hear about demons. This is really silly idea to come up in disciplining them.

I disagree. I think it should be the parents that discipline their children. I also agree this could be traumatic.

I don't agree. I think children are more scared and will not be easily go to sleep at night if they have watched or experienced something scary. My niece is a crying baby when she's scared if she have watched something scary.

You described it well. I must say that I am into horror movies. However, not all kids can be like me.
