What's for din? (With cost breakdown) August 19, 2025

One kid is off at a friend’s house living their best life, and the other one gave my cooking the ol’ nose-in-the-air treatment like I served her a plate of dirt and despair. So tonight’s dinner was only divided between the three of us who actually showed up for the team. On the menu: pork chops, rice, and garlic bread. A real “meat, carb, and more carb” situation. I did the math (because apparently I moonlight as a budget analyst now), and the grand total came to $8.03. Split between the three who actually participated in dinner, that’s $2.67 per person. Not quite the Michelin-star savings of last night’s meal, but still cheaper than therapy—or McDonald’s. So that’s what was on our table. What questionable masterpiece (or DoorDash splurge) ended up on yours?

Feeling rather lazy, last night, and had a burger and chips. As ever, my favourite part of the meal was hardly any washing up!

This dinner catches my fancy. lol. For dinner we were in Nashville and ate at a restaurant called 5th and Taylor. I had king salmon, and we had a group of 7 and racked up a $400 bill, but my sister paid, so for me it was free. lol
