This school year we are turning 60 . Oh no, surely not , you don't look a day over 30 ....well, thank you, but it is true ! Later in the year a school reunion is being planned. There was one ten years ago but I was on holiday then so couldn't attend I don't know if I should be excited or scared ..... The Mister and I would both be attending as we went to school together. We have seen a few people since school days and are friends on Facebook with others so we will have things to talk about. However, there will be loads that we haven't seen since school days ..... What do you think of school reunions ? Are they a good idea ?

I think they are great. I just went to my 50th and it was really fun to see people I haven't seen in years. Not sure I will go to more though..part of me wants to remember them as they were. I suspect most of the people from this reunion might be there though. Most looked to be in good health with the exception of a few.

Catching up with old friends sounds good to me ....and it may be the last time .. some may not make it to 70.

@Traceyjayne In the one I just went to 33 out of our 273 members had passed, so I guess roughly 15 percent.

@snowy22315 I know some of our friends have already passed .. we are at an age where I think we will be hearing others are ill too. I hope there will be good news to hear too.

I've never been to one. Most of the friends I made in school have never attended a school reunion, either. We all have different reasons we didn't attend.

@Traceyjayne When it was time for out first school reunion, I think it was 10 years, somebody decided that one of the people I disliked the most should contact me to tell me about the reunion and ask me to go. I definitely didn't want to see him ever again so refused. He wasn't nice and tried to bully me into going. I see most of the people I liked once in a while when they come back from where ever they've moved when they visit their families here. No need to see them at a school function.

Yes, people have reasons not to attend....I'm hoping if we go there will be people we were friendly with ....it would be awful if it were just those we were at school at the same time but not really friends or in the same classes .. it would be like meeting a bunch of strangers.

I guess it will depend how you were being treated as in your school days. If you gained better friends or not. But somehow it may be a good experience but most of the time, if you are all seeing each other for the first time again after graduation, expect stories will be brought back again. Just be ready to face all that. It's been a while since I last saw some few close friends. If ever there's a reunion, I would attend only to those who I'm good friends with.

@Traceyjayne Sometimes it's better off seeing them just on Facebook or other social media apps rather than seeing them in person.

@traceyjayne I would rather pass a kidney stone than go to a school reunion. I hated school and a fairly large percentage of past pupils wouldn’t be able to attend anyway since they are detained at His Majesty’s pleasure.

We've been to a few and mostly they're enjoyable. Each one gets a bit easier.

Our 60th is this year as well. I haven't gone since the 10th. There were 1,000 kids in our graduating class. Everyone is spread out all over the US now.

I have never been to any. Having said that I don't know whether there has been more than one, at the ten-year mark. Most of the people I went to school with, I was glad to see the back of.
