How do you decide whether to just delete jive monkey emails v. declaring them to be SPAM?

I just deleted a few emails. Some were from places like Best Buy, where I might occasionally shop for printer cartridges and such like.
But recently I have been sending more emails to SPAM. This morning I received an email about a miracle cure for my hemorrhoids.
I am not in perfect health, but I do not have hemorrhoids.
Nor do I want to be cremated right now.
I sent those emails to SPAM.
How do you decide whether to simply delete useless emails v.sending them to SPAM?

If the message is from some place where I am or have been an actual customer, then I think it's legitimate and I must be on some mailing list, although if they get too annoying then I unsubscribe.
If they're from some place I have never had anything to do with then they are spam.

I'd ask myself these questions: Do I use this product or store? Would I be apt to use it in the future? If you say no to both them SPAM it is. I try to get rid of a few each week. I scroll to the bottom of the email where it says "unsubscribe" and hit on it. You usually have to put in your email and you may even get another email or two because it takes a couple weeks or so for it to work through their system.

A lot of the times crappy emails automatically go into spam in my experience, so less to deal with. But I still try to go thru spam folder before doing a mass delete because on occasion a good email ends up in spam.

I like the ones that say my payment was declined and all my pics and vids will be deleted if I don't send giftcards to a guy in India by 11 PM.
