U S C G rescues a disabled boat in Ossabaw Island

Members of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) in Savannah Georgia answered am emergency call on Tuesday evening August 19 when a 39 foot sailboat was disabled near Ossabaw Island in Georgia that had two passengers who suffered injuries and needed medical assistance. A helicopter crew from the USCG Station Tybee received assistance from U S C G Air Station Savannah who sent a rescue swimmer to rescue the two injured passengers. The two passengers were taken aboard the vessel and taken to the EMS Kilkenny Marina in Richmond Hill. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/,,,

Thank goodness for the coast guard emergency rescue service. In the UK we have the RNLI which is the Royal National Lifeboat institute a voluntary service rub as a charity of men & women who carry pagers & will rescue anyone offshore & inshore waters. The Royal Navy supply rescue helicopters to assist in Emergencies.

It was good the injured passengers were rescued successfully. That was a large boat to be disabled, and maybe its safety checks were not made before it went out.
