I was going to have chicken during the week but ....well .. you know how it is ....I had other things . I realised that the chicken either had to be cooked today or go into the freezer. Since the freezer is currently almost full of blackberries and I didn't really want to take the chicken home, I thought I should get it cooked. I decided on southern fried flavouring this time ...with a side order of mayo. I didn't think I would finish the lit but I was obviously more hungry than I thought. What will you be eating today ?

I will either be eating some of the lasagna leftovers or I'll need to thaw something to make for our supper. I'm really not in the mood right now for lasagna but we don't have room in the fridge for more leftovers. (What I'd LIKE to do is go out and buy something... Talking Pretty into eating restaurant food isn't usually easy to do, though. She always says, even though we very rarely buy anything from a restaurant, that we "eat out too often". She used to say that when I worked at Walmart, so I'd stop and buy something from a restaurant on my way home from work and make sure I'd finished it before I got home and just tell her I wasn't hungry. ) Now that the money isn't mine, I can't do that anymore.

We eat out far too much. With The Mister working away during the week he says it's too much hassle to cook at home at the weekend .....either we are out anyway and get something from where we are or when he is hungry he wants food then .. not waiting whilst I prepare and cook ... And then he says we have to spend time washing up when we could be doing something else. All true of course, it is easier and quicker to eat out... But I like cooking and would like to cook for him, and it would be cheaper .. it's just a habit we have gotten into

@Traceyjayne It does make sense in your case... I totally understand not wanting to spend together time cleaning or cooking when there are more interesting things to do. Pretty doesn't understand that me cooking all the time lets her do things she wants without interruptions. She just has to stop long enough to eat the meals I cook for her. Sometimes I don't feel like cooking and she won't cook foods, normally, that I'll eat. (Once a year, maybe, she'll make cashew chicken that I like, if I cut up the chicken and veggies for her first.)

@DaddyEvil it's a shame you and Pretty can't take turns cooking .....I guess you have gotten into a routine now though .....

@traceyjayne Chicken and leek in white sauce poured over a baked potato. I’m just not in the mood to cook anything sensible. I just want to go to my favourite restaurant in Athens and be waited upon.

We had pizza for dinner. Everyone meets at the clubhouse on Fridays and has some sort of takeaway - pizza, fish and chips, Mexican.

That sounds brilliant, I love a community get together. We used to have big family parties where we would each take something along ....I miss those days ... Darn that COVID !
