This is going to sound very racist about dog breeds. It's the truth cause I was there tonight getting my heart thumped. All of us were out back, Rufus on his long tether cause the cats were outside. Hubby and I were on the swing enjoying the evening. Peter cat decided he just had to roam outside our fence. Next thing I know Peter is zipping heck for leather down the quiet side street like the devil was on his rump. And it was. A very porky tank like pitbull dog was hot on him. I screamed and figured out how to get off the swing. I kept yelling and Mr. Tank kept flying after Peter. A lady appeared. She yelled STOP!! Finally at the front of the property she caught the dog. She said he had not gotten Peter. He'd managed to get out of her house and decided it was Cat Soup night. That left me wandering around looking for Peter, hoping for the best. I finally went to the back of the house, calling Petey!! and telling hubby what had happened. Peter came from under my house. Thank God. And so did Beau Teak. Huge sigh of relief from me. I hear all the stories about pit bull dogs but never had to deal with one until tonight. The dog sure was a chunky guy. Not my kind of dog.

Just now
I'm glad Peter got away and Beau wasn't chased/caught, either! Pitt Bulls scare the crap out of me but I would have been trying to rescue the kitty, too! Some dog breeds should be allowed to go extinct!

I am glad that Peter managed to get out of the affair unharmed. I had an experience with stray dog trying to attack one of my friend's dog. We get the friend to carry her dog while we fought the dogs. Not pretty but we managed it. The stray dogs suffered from some losses through. We called our authority to tell them of the stray dogs attacking pets. Not sure what happen to those dogs. But I do not regret fighting them nor calling the authority.
