Too much temptation

I was really tempted to buy a large tropical foliage plant at Lidl the other day They would look good in here and I like them. However, Nico would never leave it alone I could see him now digging all the dirt out of it and spreading it all over the floor. N. Has alot of energy. We had a ficus tree once when the cat I had was a kitten. He was always in it..Shaking it trying to climb it. There were always leaves on the floor He doesn't go in the bathroom much..hmm against my better judgement, unless I want to be cleaning up dirt and leaves all the time

I am sure that Nico would have loved that plant, but you would have not been happy.

Probably not. Maybe when he is not quite so energetic.

@snowy22315 - I wonder why cats love so much to destroy green plants.

@LadyDuck I guess it is in their nature. Maybe I will read about it, and see if there is a way to keep cats out of them.

I tend to buy those little bags of indoor stones and cover the dirt in my planters with that. I feel that it helps conceal the dirt and I have to water less often. I don't know if that would help with pets or not.

He'd be digging those out too.. Sigh, I will do some research on deterrants.

@Juliaacv No, I don't have it yet. It could work. It would have to be something repellant enough to make him not want to have anything to do with it. I do have repellant spray like that that would keep him from chewing on it..but he would still dig. I am afraid.

No plant in your house. I have never had any house plants I am afraid my cats would dig in them.

I have one in the kitchen window now. He never climbs up there. He really isn't much of a climber. He will only climb areas he feels are safe and not scary.

lol. We can't have live plants because Doodlebug would eat some of it and throw up. I think have seen Susie and Lily eat a fake plant in my bathroom.

He hasn't gotten into fake plants to the best of my knowledge. My wandering dude is still safe too because he doesnt go up there.

One of the downsides of having an energetic cat I guess but I'm sure you get more pleasure from Nico than you would from a plant.

It depends on the day... He has "challenging" behaviors.

Probably a wise choice not to get it.
