Speaking in stereo - the Powers' twins

I was going to write about this ages ago but didn’t. These twins hit the news a while ago and have since appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel US TV show so perhaps some of you have heard of them. They’re the Powers twins, Paula and Bridgette. This identical duo are now 51 and have spent the past 25 years rescuing sick and injured seabirds. Before establishing their own centre, they spent two years working at the zoo run by Steve Irwin. They dress the same which isn’t so unusual with twins but they also speak as one, so you get this double-barrelled delivery which is quite fascinating to watch. They came to the attention of the public when their mother had her car hijacked by a gunman. Here’s a link to their interview: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-05-12/identical-twins-twinnies-bridgette-paula-powers-carjacking-viral/105240344 Edit: Some years ago, it seems they were labelled 'the most annoying twins in history' which seems very callous. The photo is mine.

They did a good job, rescuing sick and injured seabirds. Why were they labeled "the most annoying twins in history"?

I don't really have any idea. I mean they're not hurting anyone and they don't push themselves forward at all.

It's funny how they seem to have the same thoughts and express them in the same way.

It's really unusual, isn't it, that they are so attuned to each other.

I do like it that they are true to their life long mission after so many years whereby many would have already given up.
