Blackberry picking….lots for crumbles and pies

So whilst I was at the caravan I spent a quite few hours picking blackberries. They were growing wild and there were just so many of them. I walked several times along the hedges and filled my bag many times over. Got them back to the caravan and gave them a wash…well , a few, Then they went on kitchen roll to dry out and then into the freezer before being placed in small bags. They will be perfect for crumbles and pies over the Winter. We have so many apples on the tree in our garden too so I can see lots of puddings being made. Do you have wild blackberries growing near to you ? Do you like blackberries in a pudding ?

When we used to live in East Cleveland there were blackberry bushes at the end of the street. All the kids would bring a container to take the berries back to their mothers; but first we had our fill!!! I've never had blackberries in a pudding.

Yes, there are lots of blackberry patches all over the countryside around my city... Few people go out and pick them anymore, though. A person is too likely to run into black bears out in the woods eating blackberries and they will attack you. It's safer to buy blackberries around here. And no, I don't like blackberries. I used to pick and sell them when I was growing up. The little blackberry seeds always got stuck between my teeth and drove e crazy.

Not quite as many now as when we were kids we used to go to the surrounding hills & pick all day long having a picnic while we were there. Mum used to make pies, Jam, Crumbles which were all delicious.

I don't have wild blackberries near me, but I do appreciate them in desserts. Those crumbles and pies are sure to be a hit this winter with your haul. Plus, with all those apples in your garden, you’re set for some fantastic puddings. Happy baking!

My dad grows blackberries in the backyard of he and his wife. He bought a packet of blueberry seeds, but they were mislabeled, and here came blackberries! He loves blackberry pie, and blackberries in vanilla yogurt.
