Employees of the Florida Fish And Wildlife Conversation Commission answered an emergency call to remove a nine foot alligator from the Florida Turnpike in Miami-Dade County on the emergency lane on Friday July 25. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officials had to close two lanes of the southbound lanes while the FWC removed the alligator from the turnpike to a nearby canal near the exit of Northwest 74th Street since it is against the law in Florida to rub out an alligator. It was a very scary scene for the motorists seeing an alligator on the turnpike.

I'm glad the alligator didn't get squashed, not that I like them much.

I am sure that the turnpike is in good shape for traffic to travel safely after the alligator was removed from the road by the animal control officials.

Those two men must have been hefty gents, to carry a 9 foot alligator like that. I would never do that myself, as I do not want to ever get that close to an alligator.
