My Daughter Got Hacked

My daughter has a Facebook account, and it was recently hacked. She and I use the Messenger on it to communicate back and forth. It's better than yelling to her downstairs. She is usually down there so it is a nice option. But now her account is gone. Someone hacked into it. We tried to fix her up a new one, but it's all messed up now. Even the email she used to use. I set her up a new one. Facebook says it will get back to her in 48 hours and then we never hear anything back. We have my email as her one to fall back on and I haven't received any from them. So, I am thinking we need to go elsewhere. Not sure what we will do. I remember back years ago when I had an AOL account. At night someone would hack my account and send out a multitude of scam emails. Then in the morning I would get a warning email from AOL as if I were the one doing it. It would take forever to get my account back. Then it would just happen again. I'm wondering if Facebook thinks my daughter is the one hacking or something of the sort. I just don't know. But that was AOL. I am hoping we can find another site to use. Either that or get wacky talkies.

Do you both have phones? You an send texts back and forth. That's how Pretty and I communicate if we're busy and don't want to go to the other person's room. If you only have one phone, you can send text messages to her email address by typing her email address into the "Send" space on the text, and press send. She can send a message to you by typing your phone number into the address bar on an email. It will pop up on your phone.

Yes, right now we both have phones. But my daughter has made such a mess out of hers that she gets random calls repeatedly and it is just a mess. My grandson put his foot down a couple of days ago and said no more phone for her. He was trying to fix something on her phone (part of the Facebook fiasco) and he just put it down and left the room. When he came back, he told her. She has issues and it sort of a situation. Interesting about the email option. I am going to see about a flip phone for her. We may see if that works on the flip. Thank you!

@celticeagle You're welcome. And yes, it will work for a flip phone, too.

@DaddyEvil ......Oh, good. I think we will just text now with our phones. I'm not getting into setting up another account until the Housing stuff is over and done with.

Walkie talkies are fine but must be kept on all the time. Maybe you could communicate through email with gmail or another service.

I hope that you watch your account and change your email as well so that you are not next. Those hackers are terrible.

MeWe? Sounds interesting. Maybe I will check it out. I think for now we will just text. I've had my account for years too.
