Sunny L.A. or the Mountain West?

Looking back on my vacation in the sun-soaked beaches, vibrant neighborhoods, Hollywood glamour, and endless attractions of Los Angeles, California. I now realize that I enjoyed the more peaceful and tranquil environment of the countryside in the U.S., Sunny California was awesome. Still, I liked the fresh air of Medicine Bow in the U.S. Mountain West, even more.
What city did you visit that stood out the most to you? Have you been to L.A.? What experience during your stay do you remember the most? How did the energy of L.A. shape your experience, and would you go back to relive any part of it?

Yes, I've been to LA and drove through the mountains around it. I've driven around and through a lot of the US when Pretty was little. I was more impressed with The Grand Canyon that any city we went to.
I made a mistake when we were driving in LA that could have gotten us into a major accident. I pulled over on a freeway onramp because I was lost and needed to look at the map again. I had a terrible time finding a break in the traffic coming off the freeway before I could get back into the flow of traffic.
I really dislike big cities and would avoid them forever if I have any choice in the matter. They're too big, too busy and the people are rude.

I concur with your conclusion that people in big cities are rude. I met many rude people in L.A. even at the airport. They were unsmiling and like they had all the problems in the world. I was depressed because I had looked forward to my U.S. visit, about the country that I had admired a lot, and it was a letdown. However, when I traveled to the West, people became more and more caring, even greeting me and opening doors for me, a stranger. That redeemed my faith in the U.S.

@DaddyEvil That's a funny story.
. The lady must have been flabbergasted by the way he previously treated you. You are a true gentleman. I do appreciate men who do that. Although I can do it myself, it's good to know there are still gentlemen on this planet who treat ladies as queens.
.
At least, she made up for it by putting in a good word for you to your manager.
Yes, I was lucky. I even made a bet with my aunt that the seemingly pouty old man walking toward us would respond when I greeted him. This is in the West, so I said, "How's your day going?" The old mad gave me a wide grin and replied: "Good, my lady, good."

@Jenaisle You were very lucky, then. Most people in the Midwest are very nice and will offer to open doors for you. I met a lady who yelled at me for holding a door open for her. She told me she was perfectly capable of opening her own doors. I told her I was holding the door whether she wanted me to or not. She could always walk around the building to a different door if she wanted to open one. And I stood there holding the door until she went inside.
What was funny happened a little bit later... I was going into that building because it was almost time for me to clock in for work. After I clocked in, two people in my department told me someone was looking for me... And guess who needed my help with a phone?
The lady who had just yelled at me walked up and then turned beet red when she saw me.
She apologized and I grinned and laughed, telling her it was okay. I told her I try to be polite and do like helping people... Then I asked what she needed my help with and we proceeded to have a good conversation while I fixed her phone. She kept trying to give me a tip when I'd finished and I told her I wasn't allowed to accept tips so she wanted to know where my department manager was and I pointed the lady out to her, thinking she was still going to try to get me in trouble... She praised me to my boss and said there should be more people like me in the world. That did make my day!

Nope! I've never been there.
But I always want to visit places here in the Philippines when the sun shines so lovely.
I love summer.

We traveled from Tijuana Mexico to Vancouver Canada.. I enjoyed LA and all the attractions; but northern California was wonderful. So much wildlife and beautiful scenery. I would love to visit the west coast again.

Been to LA twice during my 18 months stay in California. Liked it. It's a vibrant and happening place. But I personally prefer a quieter place close to nature. Some of the places in Western ghats and in foots of Himalaya in India have mystique beauty.
In the US, I found Grand Canyon beautiful.
