So, next week here in the UK the new school year will start.
For the first time since 1988 I will miss the beginning of term as a member of staff.
I was at the hospital on Wednesday and I have another two months off because of my broken arm. I haven’t started physio yet….on my arm or hand.
It was strange in July when the schools broke up for the summer holidays ….another first as it was the first July that I had missed since starting work.
The Grandaughter is back on Tuesday and the Grandson back on Wednesday, so I will of course be sending them good luck messages.
So, for anyone else going back to the new term this week, as a pupil or member of staff …..GOOD LUCK.

It must seem strange to you not going back to school. Rest and heal up soon!

It seems very strange. I have taken my latest sick note round to a work colleague who has been taking them in for me and we were talking about getting ready for the new term. Seems very weird not having to do that……bag ready, packed lunch done, new timetables worked out etc….

You can't pass up any excuse for more vacation time, though.

It will feel strange for you to be missing the start of school.

I also wish anyone who goes to school soon in the UK the very best of good luck learning their trades.
