Do you like to eat sweet pastries even though they may be bad for you, and their name makes them sound unfit for human confection?
Pictured above is a Flies Graveyard, more delicately referenced as a current square, frequently apocopated to ‘curn square.
These are a favourite among the sweet-toothed Irish and the filling is a thick, sticky confection of currents cooked down in sugary syrup.
Would you like to share one with me? With fresh cream? Ok then, I’ll eat it all myself.

I don't really like currants but would be willing to take a bite and see if I like that. Uhm... I'd really rather not hear the name of the dessert, though.
I have a plate just like the one in your photo. Mine is a serving dish and I don't remember where I got it from. I use it to cut up a watermelon on as well as store the rest of the watermelon in the fridge after cutting off slices of it.

It could be Fiesta ware. I have quite a few pieces. They are collectibles.

@LindaOHio My first wife was always bring home odd dishes. I think she brought that one over with a strawberry shortcake on it when we were getting divorced. (She was trying to convince the judge we were trying to reconcile when I didn't want to have anything to do with her.)

I do like my sweets, but I'd have to pass on that one.

It would be hard to get past a name like Flies Graveyard. it does remind me of an Amish pie called Shoo Fly pie. It is made with molasses, but it looks similar.
