Drinking Electrolytes

My new primary care physician advised me to drink electrolyte powder. She suggested a brand called Relyte, which I haven't looked up but hubby said was expensive.
Hubby had some he bought on Amazon in a canister and made me a couple of drinks but it didn't have a good taste. Kind of bitter. Then I found out that he was putting Iodine drops in it as well.
So yesterday while I was at Walgreens I picked up some Proptel and Gatorade Zero electrolyte powder (Both made by Gatorade apparently) in several different flavors. This morning I'm trying the Grape. It's pretty good. Bit of a salty aftertaste, but then again what's what electrolytes are - sodium.
Do you drink electrolytes?

Only in the summer when I’m sweating.

@LooeyVille I just add a little sea salt in coconut water and a little lime or lemon
You can also use fresh orange juice ..the coconut is for potassium like the orange is.
The salt is the sodium. You can also had honey for a bit of sweetness and energy.
This is really easy to make.

Pretty tested low on iron and is anemic. She's taking iron tablets and drinking propel.
Why was your hubby adding iodine to the water? Does your water have parasites in it?

@LooeyVille It can be but they make a pill for that so you get a regulated amount of iodine in your system instead of making guesses at how much you need.

I think that what I drink and eat will eventually probably end my life but I would rather do what I can and watch my finances,

I have a bottle of Pedialyte in the pantry in case I get well you know. I had it for 8 days last time; and my PCP recommended it. To me it's way too expensive; and I should have chosen a cheaper brand.
