I am considering moving into a smaller house, as this is a 5 bedroom very big to me. Its costly to cool down and will certainly be high to heat in the winter. I haven't decided what place to live yet or even which state. The one I live in has high costs for everything.
If you could chose anywhere to live where would you live? Is there a perfect place to retire? I am hoping to retire and want to live where the weather isn't to hot or cold.

I have considered moving closer to medical services as I'm at an age that could need help. Right now I don't live close to anything but other houses.

@JudyEv I would miss wildlife and birds also. The birds have been talking a lot lately and yesterday one bird was trying to get me away from the pond I was adding water to it.

@Fishmomma We were on 18 acres with a lot of wildlife and birds around us so I miss all that.

Yes I don't want to work the rest of my life to pay the bills. I want to be able to live on my retirement income.

I live in northern Virginia and would love to have a 5 bedroom home because my mother, grown daughter and her 2 children. When none of them need me around anymore I would like to live in a warm, beach area with a nice breeze from the water and no snow, so I am thinking Florida.

Several people have mentioned Florida as a location to consider as several relatives live there. It would be nice to spend time with family.

We sold our four bedroom house in Denver, Colorado and bought a two bedroom house in Roseburg, Oregon. With the sale of our house we bought a new car and paid cash for the second house.
It cost a lot less to live here to. So I am happy with our move to a smaller home.

Where I live in North East Georgia is pretty good. Some homes are very expensive but there are others that are not too bad. The weather is not extreme. Yes it gets hot and the winters are not too bad, little snow not too much.

How much is a little snow? I have only seen snow a few times in my life.

If I could choose a place to retire, I would settle down for a city near a beach resort in Cameron Louisiana.

I like the beach idea, as lived near the beach a lot of years. Now I'm to inland and it gets hot during the summer.
