Fire Arms ARE Permitted...

Yeah. Fire arms are allowed at the Idaho State Fair. (Or, it was. It ended on the 24th.) But ski masks, drones, emotional r animals, hover boards, skateboards, fireworks, drugs, and alcohol are not permitted. Wyonna Judd was there this year. I used to go every year. The sounds, the lights, food and rides all excited me nearly as much as a good thunderstorm does. But not so anymore. I even traveled with the carnival for several months. I enjoyed it all. Now I couldn't stand it for five minutes.

I've only been to the Missouri State Fair once and am not interested in going again. I do want to go to Apple Butter Makin' Days in Mt Vernon, 12 miles away from us. (It's the county capital here.) But, if it's too much for me, we may come straight back home instead of staying very long.

The crowds deter me nowadays. I hope you get to go.

@DaddyEvil .......I do too. Even the food is expensive. When I worked there the carnival had a hidden little cafe and you could get food very cheap. You like lamb? I find it greasy. We tried a new sandwich at the Mall one time and found out it was lamb. It tasted awful. I do like venison and wild game though. Not ducks. Oh, it's in October so that should give you time to decide.

@celticeagle I like lamb only when it's still hot from cooking. Once it cools, I throw it away. I love venison and some wild game. Venison I have ground up and mix it with hamburger. It's delicious! Wild game I'll bake just like I do chicken. It's good, too. I can't stand duck meat. It's greasy and tastes bad. I've only cooked it once, tasted it and gave it to a friend who loved it. We won't know if we can go to the fair until we see if my eyes are open enough for me to drive us there.

I used to enjoy taking my kids to the fair. I now just like to walk around and look.

I used to really enjoy going but not anymore. I don't like the crowds, and it has gotten too expensive.

I guess as we older and have attended festivals, the aura wears off.
