Hello everyone. I hope your day is off to a good start. It is 58 degrees F and dark here at the Jersey Shore. The high for today is 74. Where did the summer heat go?
Well today is the day--back to reality. Back to work. I am grateful to have a job but I'm not a worker bee. I wouldn't work if I didn't have to pay the bills. 
Today is just staff and a professional day. The students come back tomorrow. Then it really gets real.
We are supposed to stay until 3pm today. That likely won't happen. I do have to pack up my stuff and move it but I'm not going to try to do it all today. I'm just not. I don't need the stress. I'll do it bit by bit. The guy that got my room doesn't have 20+ years of stuff like I do and he will be lost without all of my dry erase markers, pens, passes, etc.
What's everyone else up to today?

The sun is just coming up here, and it appears to be a very clear day.
I am up, have a load of lights in the washer and have to start back in a very short time.
Stay safe today and choose your battles, which it sounds like you already are.
There are lots and lots of days to follow that you can move the things out of that classroom, and if he is borrowing them, maybe he will feel compelled to help.

Happy Go back to work day. You may not be crazy about work, but it gives your life some structure, and affords you the lifestyle you have grown used to. Just trying to get things lined up to get my car problem fixed. Other than that stuff online.
