I love the written word. I enjoy finding the just the right word for the thought I am trying to evoke. What an adventure it is sometimes. I am impressed so much by the classics and what seems to make them so. This time of year, the horror classics begin to come to mind. I think of such concrete classics in the genre such as Frankenstein, Dracula, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Phantom of the Opera, The Raven, Camilla: The Vampire Kiss, and The Turn of the Screw. All of these have been the peak of ideas for some of the best hours of film and words of book series made today. They alone have brought about the many book series, franchises and movies many of us enjoy today. They were the origins of the macabre, horror, and evil. Those pages are where we find the best of the best even today.
Do you have a favorite among these I have listed?
My favorite among these I have listed is definitely The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. He is one of the true greats in the horror genre. The rhythm and word usage is so interesting and keeps me coming back for more. I have added the link to Christopher Lee reading The Raven. I think you will see what I mean.

I don't really have a favorite of the ones you listed. I would like to see The Picture of Dorian Gray.
