She's kind of excited about her doctor appointment because she thinks it's for a physical, a follow--up on her diabetes, a chance to get refills on her medications, and a look at her fractured ribs. She doesn't know about the mental status evaluation part of the visit.
She has really gone downhill fast. One example: She has always been a make-up/cosmetics person. She used to work at the Clinique Counter at a department store. She LOVES make-up. So we were going through her clothes and a few had make-up stains on them. I said, "I think that's foundation, you wear foundation, don't you?" She said, "What's foundation?" I had to explain it's like liquid powder you put on your face. She said, "I don't wear make-up" Yes, she does wear make-up and yes she does wear foundation.
Another example: There was a box in the corner of the room and she asked what was in it. I read the label and said it was books. She asked, "What's a book?" I thought she meant what books were they. No, she literally didn't know what a book was. I had a explain it's paper pages with words on them that you read.
So as you can see, she surely won't pass this mental status evaluation and I hope, hope, hope the doctor can order her to live in Memory Care as she really doesn't need to be living alone.

It certainly sounds like she needs Memory Care and hope the doctor orders it.

I am hoping he pulls her driver's license after that wreck, as well as Memory Care.
