School teacher rescues a child from drowning in a swimming pool

Decatur Alabama resident Christy Williams who is a math teacher at Eastwood Elementary School was in attendance with her daughter and several students of the same school this past weekend when a young child went into the deep end of the swimming pool. The young person who is not a student of the school started to struggle to stay afloat when Christy jumped into the swimming pool and saved the child from drowning by getting the child from the swimming pool to the surface and into the edge of the swimming pool where other parents managed to give the injured student chest compressions before medical help arrived to take the young child via ambulance to a local hospital where the child is expected to make a full recovery. Christy insists that she is not a heroine. She was just there to lend a hand on a child who hopefully learn not to go into the deep end of swimming pools without proper supervision.
