Have You Ever Had a Speeding Ticket?

I've had two, which isn't bad considering I've been driving for 44 years.
And I have a bit of a lead foot. More than a bit. I speed often but not by more than 5-8 mph.
The first ticket I totally deserved. I was giddy from meeting a guy who eventually turned out to be my second husband. We had just met and scheduled our first date and I lived about a mile away and kind of flew down the hill about 15 mph over the speed limit with my windows open and the music cranked up - - in a red car. So I totally deserved that one.
The second one I'm not so sure, but knowing that I speed a little I accepted it. It was the day before my Dad died, so I wasn't up to fighting it and I took the class to avoid the points on my license.

Yes and no. Technically, yes; however, it was one of those Honolulu “ticket the haole” things. Proof? It was NEVER reported on my driver’s license or to my insurance.

Yes I got one many years ago while traveling on the highway and got caught up in a pack that was going over the speed limit. All of us got pulled over and ticketed. Another time I was 'sort of" speeding on one of our local roads when the cop pulled me over. Thankfully I was able to talk myself out of a speeding ticket and only got a warning. (whew)

Yes, more than I care to admit to. I have a bit of a problem. The last one I got was about 2.5 years ago, but prior to that it was several years before that, I got the last one.

@looeyville Two for me as well. First was just after having crossed the border from the south and the police were hiding somewhere with their camera. Second time I was bombing through Ballygalley village at 37 MPH when the limit was 30. We have the option of going on a speed awareness course rather than pay the fine which I did both times. The course is more expensive that the fine, but if you accept the fine then your insurer finds out and your insurance goes up next year at renewal. I always now use my car's speed limiters which helps a lot. I might also get a fine if I give in to the urge to punch the man sitting beside me in this library where I'm idling at the computer - he is humming to himself (and everyone else) very loudly.

No, I have not. Though I have been driving for more than two decades and have driven in the US and other countries too, I never cross the speed limit. I am never too confident to go beyond speed limit. Despite so many years of driving, I am still a bit scared and cautious while on road.

I’ve never had a speeding ticket since I don’t drive a car yet. The only thing I drive is a 3-wheeled e-bike, and I go really slow because I usually have my mom with me—she’s a senior citizen—or sometimes my little nieces and nephews. So, for me, it’s always safety first.

I've been stopped for speeding and got a ticket but went to court and fought it and was let off. The Sheriff told the judge he didn't trust his own deputies and I MIGHT not have been speeding... (I wasn't speeding... My daughter, a friend of hers and I were going to an amusement park. I saw the police car parked ahead of us and checked to make sure I wasn't speeding.)

I never have but I only drove for a short time. The Mister on the other hand gets them more often than he changes his socks !.
Don’t get me wrong he is a very careful and safe driver …it’s only ever a couple of miles over …..but it is too often for my liking.
