A whisky and hot water will make the world alright !

It’s got to the point in the year where the weather is changing , it’s getting darker earlier, and it’s getting chilly during the evenings now …. I am beginning to fancy a little something to lift my spirit a little, and warm the cockles of my heart ( you can google the phrase if you like …basically it will make me feel better and happy and warm ). We went shopping today and I treated myself to a bottle of whisky …. I think a whisky and hot water is in order …. How is your day / evening ?

We say "warm the cockles of my heart" in my part of Missouri, too. The sun doesn't set here until around 7:30 pm and it's still hot as heck outside that late in the evening. It starts getting nicer around 10 pm. I took a short nap earlier but woke up too soon for me to eat late lunch yet... It's only 3:15 pm now. I usually wake up around 5 pm and make something for lunch. I hope you enjoy your evening.

@Traceyjayne I kind of think that's the other way around... Why would Americans take anything from the British? I'm glad you're enjoying yourselves. I've just cooked hamburgers and am eating one for my late lunch. Pretty is still asleep this afternoon. There is a favorite YouTuber playing a game I enjoy watching. But I can watch it any time. I don't have to watch it just because he's having fun.

@traceyjayne With a stick of cinnamon, three cloves and a slice of lemon. Excellent on a stormy night.

That sounds a great pick-me-up for cold weather.

I don't imbibe liquor anymore (Hubby and I used to have a drink and some bubbly on New Year's Eve; but he's gone now); but if I did it would be cranberry juice and vodka. My day is OK.
