Its Been a Long Week Without Internet

Philippines
September 13, 2025 3:45am CST
We had problems to our current internet providers since July, and until now, September, our internet connection was not yet fixed, my sister decided to terminate our subscription with them, but even that we still having a problem, their customer service has no used and has no sense of urgency. We hope that converge will process our request to terminate our subscription with them this week. They are really bad and so as their customer service and we are not the only one who experienced that, they did not value our 4 years subscription with them, and it was saddening We have applied to a new internet provider, and hopefully we will have a new internet connection next week. It is hard to rely on mobile data, the signal is not reliable. Is your internet service providers good?

I use my phone internet only (unlimited data is cheap on my plan). My home internet was so overpriced, it was ridiculous. My phone is much more reliable. The internet costs are getting ridiculous for home. And if I need a desktop I can just go to my dad’s.

Yeah, it's cool, but if you want to use it for Zoom meetings and a lot of uploading and downloading during wor,k it will not last the whole month, it becomes more expensive than subscribing to a much faster fiber connection and unlimited internet.

That sounds so frustrating, especially after being a loyal customer for 4 years. Poor service makes it even worse. I hope your new provider gets you connected quickly. Mobile data is never the same as proper internet. My provider is decent most of the time, but we do get occasional dropouts.

My internet is pretty good, but I sure wish it was cheaper. Unfortunately, unlike @AmbiePam, I don't do so well with internet on my phone.

I hope they can give a cheaper option specially when it was just used at home and it is not for big corporates.

That's sad because until now the government can't do something about it, the TELCOs was shaken once by Duterte administration, but because he is not in power anymore they got lax again. Waaaahhh! I hope God gave them a rivalry with a heart that can make them do their job properly and have a customer service with a good attitude and that also do their jobs properl.

Customer service should know better, especially since internet is such a big part of daily life now. I hope your new provider sets up everything quickly so you won’t have to keep relying on mobile data, I know how unstable that can be. As for me, my internet provider is okay most of the time, but there are days when it suddenly slows down and tests my patience too,

You know what, hope CSR with that kind of attitude and have no respect to their job and to the customer of their company should all be fired and will never get a job of the same kind of environment. They so not deserve that.

Almost all providers here have problems with internet connections. Some time ago, a device short-circuited, so it took quite a long time to replace the device.

I think in most country who have a few internet providers they tend to not do their jobs properly, they only want power and money, and they can peacefully do that, knowing they have no competitors who do their jobs honestly and properly too.

I just recently applied to PLDT. Our converge has been acting up since September 1 What's your telco?

PLDT? Its their sister company they say... kidding. We applied to globe and they reschedule our installation on September 3O, maybe many availed their promo. 1 Pesos installment free, can you believe that. You know what their customer service gives different procedures and requirements before terminating our contract, they are so evil! I hate them, but anyway I forgive them again... waaah they are so bad. Imagine they did not value our long term subscription with them.

@luisadannointed we are not under the contract for converge so I can terminate them anytime. Globe's signal is not good here so I am hesitant to get their service
