So yesturday in our local town there was a Mad Hatters Tea Party ….if you know the story of Alice in Wonderland , you will be familiar with this. It was held in the grounds of the church / church hall. People dressed as the Characters and there was a scavenger hunt for the children. They had to go around the gardens finding pictures of items from the story …..teapot, Cheshire Cat, Queen of hearts etc. following that they had free cake and drinks. Also there were craft tables, our two decided they would name and decorate hats to wear to the tea party. All in all we had a great time.

That sounds a wonderful community event. I'm glad you all had a good time. It sounds a lot of fun. Vince and I went to a fancy dress party once as the Mad Hatter and Queen of Hearts. I'll add a photo.

@Traceyjayne We don't actually like fancy dress but thought we should make an effort. They were hired for the evening.

@JudyEv …. I was going to ask if you had bought them or hired them. I’m not one for dressing up either ….we do it at school for world book day…the kids love it ….no so much us staff But like you say , we have to make the effort. I will show your photo to the Grandkids next time they come..

That sounds like such a fun event! I bet the scavenger hunt and hat decorating were a big hit with the kids. Did you end up joining in on any of the activities yourself?

@Traceyjayne It must have been so much fun. And you can’t forget the cake, of course! What kind of cake did you have?
