I haven't had one in ages. The last time I scheduled one the therapist wound up calling out and I couldn't immediately reschedule since I had so much after-school tutoring going on. It eventually fell off the radar.
I've been back to work for about 3 weeks now and man am I feeling it. I've already been dealing with sciatica and neuropathy but now I'm running back and forth between classrooms and the teacher's room when I don't have a class. I'm getting my steps! Unfortunately I also am getting a lot of pain and swollen calves and ankles.
This evening I'm sitting here and feeling pain in my neck and traps (muscles between neck and shoulders).
I decided enough is enough and booked myself a 90 minute deep tissue massage for Thursday after work. It is $110 plus tip which I think is a reasonable price. It isn't until 2:30 when I could be there at 2 but that gives me time to hit up the bank ATM to get cash for the tip.
Yes prices of everything are up but I was lucky last year with all of the tutoring and coverages and I got a decent raise this year so I don't feel a shred of guilt about getting a massage. I will likely book another before I even leave the place in a couple of days. I deserve it.

You shouldn’t feel guilty about treating yourself. I’m a little shocked it costs more to get a massage here than it does there. That’s why I can only do a 30 minute cupping/massage. But believe me, I appreciate it when I can get one. I just have her work on my shoulders and back.
Enjoy that massage girl!

This is an independent place that has been the least expensive one I've found. I've always had good experiences. And when they say they are doing 60 or 90 minutes--that's what they do of massage. They don't chop off minutes to get undressed and dressed.

@NJChicaa My girl is independent, but perhaps I need to ask around. She’s better than the lady in our church who used to do it, but not cheaper. I do appreciate she told me not to tip her. I never asked why, and at Christmas I do it anyway. She’s really helped my migraines and back problems.

I know some people just love messages. I am not one of those people. It sounds wonderful and relaxing...but I have ''trigger points'' that if under any pressure at all, they can cause intense pain. So I have to pass on the messages, I hope yours makes you feel better!
