Off duty San Antonio firefighter saves the life of a teenager at an ice hockey rink

Mike Leroy who is a firefighter in San Antonio Texas was at the right place at the right time on Tuesday August 12 when a 16 teen year old ice hockey player named Graedy Renmeka who suffered a heart attack while he was playing ice hockey with the Rampage Hockey team during practice.
Mike used Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on Graedy for a period of 20 minutes when first responders came to take Graedy to a local hospital to have open heart surgery due to a heart defect at his birth.
Mike was rewarded for his act of saving the life of the teenager on Monday by members of the ice hockey team.

I could understand if Graedy had his heart attack from a legal hit by his opponent in the rink but during practice,

That is true since even Graedy admits that Mike saved his life by giving him CPR.

I wonder how they allow him to play hockey when he has a heart condition.
I hope he can still play, especially if that is what the kiddo loves doing. God bless.

In some ways, it was good that his heart defect was picked up, as if he did not know about it, he could have had a fatal attack, just about anywhere, and so it was lucky that the firefighter knew what to do here, and saved his life.
