Leaving Goodwill soon

HI Mylotters. Sorry I haven't posted anything to you in a long while. I've been busy crazy with Sugar and Bailey's cat introduction, work, and my job search. I promise to update you hopefully this weekend. But I'm happy to share the news with you all, after a year-long job search with two job coaches and one job counselor, I've gotten hired today at one of my interviews today, and will be leaving Goodwill after 2.5 years next month. Two years as a textile processor, eight months as a wares cart Runner, and a little over two months of being a cashier to be exact. This came a month after my last month with Raenell and Lauri, when I was start applying to jobs as a cashier last month, I was offered by Roses. But it didn't feel right to me, when I had a short interview, and hired on the spot. I did the onboarding and didn't turn in my IDs to finish the process. And then I told Lauri and Raenell at the meeting. They told me, I could use it as a stepping stone to leave Goodwill. The I had an ultimatum from Raenell: if I pass another offer, the case would be closed with OOD. And I knew she counted last fall's offer from Crackelr Barrel. But I passed it because I didn't know, if my Survivor's Benefits from my father would be affected by my benefits, while I waffled and waited to hear from them. So I haven't heard back from Roses, as it went away on its own. Then, I received an offer from Citi Trends this week. But I couldn't log into the Career Center on the website to do the background check. It led to my three-year-old application that was rejected. I called them about it. I never heard back from them, even if I received another email from them. If I can't access it, I can't move forward and let it go. So after so many applications, interviews, 4 months of being glammed up, follow-ups, I've gotten hired by Acme Fresh Markets at Stow. This is after my two local ones here in my home town passed on me. I don't know why. The third time is the charm. Though I get paid 11.15 an hour, and they agreed to 24 instead of 28 hours for the max, I accepted the Customer Service Associate/Cashier position. There's no heavy lifting and small grocery loads at the cash register. I'll work on my exit letter this weekend, and turn it in this coming Monday, stating my last day would be on October 3rd, since I'll be starting on October 8th. I would shop and donate items there from time to time--I just need to buy some black pants and shoes, perhaps at my final days with Goodwill. Lauri told me that they work with OOD and Hattie Larlham as a community partner. So I'll get job coaching until the end of the year. And I plan to stay on for a least 1.5 to 2 years to get new experience. And this would be brought up at next week's meeting with Lauri and Raenell too. Like I did with Goodwill, 2.5 weeks ago, I'll do an update on my training days with Acme Fresh Markets. Sorry this is such a long post. But I wanted to share some good news with you all tonight! Eight days left and counting. See you all this weekend.

If it is for you, it is for you, no one can shut the door that God opens for you. Everything seemed closed its doors, but what is yours remains open. God bless. I am so happy for you. God bless.
