Here 7 years gap between partnersis considered a good gap where the man is 7 years older. But that is history now. We see odd couples the world over Anything and everything is seen these days An old man will marry a young girl. An old woman will marry a young man. Sometmes they are of the same age. Why all this happens is a million dollar question Image credit: Any idea?.

Sad thing now is people don't marry because of love and commitment, they marry for convenience and benefits.

@allknowing Koren Drama of a May December affair is very different to reality, but you know what, I know some of the people who have a big age gap but thrive in their marriage, because they chose God and commitment not their own selfish needs. God bless.

That has always been the case. In fact marrying for love has always been the exception, most often it was simply a 'business arrangement' where each partner has services to offer.

We have a little more than seven years gap. And my daughters say that I have married a man from my previous generation. I feel that as long as both are adults and they find compatability, age is just a number. If the relationship has to work, it will work ( irrespective of age gap) and if it has to fail, it will fail ( age gap might or might not be the reason). If both have the consent, it's okay.

Age is just a number when we talk of an individual per se but when they are paired with those with an age that influences the way they live then there is trouble A young 21 year old marryin g a 75 year old for example will surely have issues to deal with. Your age gap according to me is perfect

@allknowing As long as they are not forced and have no bad intentions ( marrying for money) involved, it is okay. I am okay with my age gap, but many of my friends and the younger generations like my daughters, nephew, niece etc find it iconic

I guess love knows no boundaries. You can't stop someone from loving someone much older than them. It might seem a bit awkward, but it's their choice to be in that relationship, so maybe just respect them for it.

@allknowing It is difficult to be certain about such matters, as it ultimately depends on how they truly feel for each other. The authenticity of a relationship is something that may remain uncertain, and only time will reveal how it will endure for both individuals involved.

I think it's better that the age gap won't be so big so that the couples can have something in common. As to the cases you mentioned, I think they don't marry for love but money.

Why can't you be a friend to your husband with an age gap of 7 years?

@Kusumakrishna That is not how partnership works and 7 years is too littlle an age gap for someone to treat their partner as a kid

@allknowing I cannot imagine that...that is not my age group.he may give elderly pose to me and may treat me childish. My opinions may be undervalued due to my age...i know these reasons cannot make sound

I just went to a wedding of a 42 year old man and 62 year old woman. He is CRAZY about her. She would not date him for years because of the age gap, but she finally gave in, and they started dating. And now, they’re married. She has a daughter from a previous marriage, and her daughter thinks he’s perfect for her mom.

A lot of times a young woman will marry an older man because the guy is rich and famous. In other words, they are marrying him for his money.

Both my ex-wives were older than me... My first wife was 14 years older and my second wife was 7 years older than me. There is nothing wrong with an age gap between hubby and wife, as long as the couple love and respect each other.

@allknowing True, neither marriage lasted. There WERE some good times during the marriages, though.

Everyone is different. Some people are young at heart, others are old before their time.

I guess there isn't such a stigma attached nowadays if you marry outside your own age group. My son is 8 years younger than his wife but they've now been married 20 years.

Those are exceptions where odd age gap does not affect their relationship

Age gap between the husband and wife with the husband being much older is still prevalent in Bengal. My husband was 12 years elder to me. I don't think that's right because sometimes people in the society do pass remarks which creates tension between the couples.
