Hanging by a tiny patch of dirt

I took this photo on top of Elachbutting Rock which I’ve already told you about – several times in fact. These pretty little plants were growing in almost no earth at all. I’m always surprised how plants will establish themselves in such tiny patches of dirt but seem perfectly happy and will flower and flourish in conditions that would see many domestic plants turning up their toes in disgust.

Gardeners go to so much trouble to try to accommodate their plants. Sometimes, I wonder why we go to all that bother. Maybe we should just try to love our weeds! lol

Some plants are very tough and grow under very difficult conditions.

Well, they were growing on rocks so that seems a good name for them. I don't really know.

They are indeed and they looked very cheerful along the gaps in the rocks. Anywhere really where there was a bit of soil.

Some plants don't seem to need much dirt to grow.
