Manatee County lifeguard Owen Munday answered an emergency call on Thursday September 18 when an eyewitness told Owen about an injured pelican who was in the water.
Owen took care of the injured pelican by wrapping up the pelican with a towel so that the injured pelican would be taken care of by animal control officers.
Owen did his duty to assist humans as well as animals.

The pelican will be all right since the animal is being taken care of by veterinarians.
