Apple Orchard of the Past

My ex and I used to travel the back roads on our road trips. Traveled to the farming community and found an apple orchard. This one in particular had huge apples. We would ask and were allowed to pick the ones that had fallen. They were probably the size of two normal apples. I often could not finish one apple. They were good for our lunch. I have never seen such big apples. I wonder how those trees are faring this year with all the drought.

I haven't had an apple in a long time. I can't find the Roman apples that I like.

@celticeagle I don't know. I had some apples similar to them about 2 years ago; but I don't remember what they were.
