Duck for Sunday lunch

United Kingdom
September 21, 2025 3:50pm CST
Usually duck is quite expensive but the supermarket had them on special offer this week….so we bought one. There is very little fat on a duck and The Mister hates fat. So we had a good deal and I must say it was delicious. We had roast duck, garlic & rosemary roast potatoes, cauliflower, cabbage, sage & onion stuffing and gravy. For pudding The Mister had pears and cream. Mom and I had blackberry and apple pie and cream. What did you have for Sunday dinner today ?

Does pudding in the United Kingdom just mean “dessert”?

Yes, it’s dessert …./although there are some things called pudding that are not dessert ….like black pudding ….made from animals blood and you have it on a fried breakfast

Pretty and I just ate late lunch. We had chicken patties with mashed potatoes. Delicious! Normally, I like all birds but duck isn't one of them... When I baked a duck, it came out so greasy I hated it. I gave the whole thing to a friend who loved it. I'm glad you enjoyed your supper.

We never buy duck. I don't think it is that popular here but perhaps I'm wrong.

That sounds delicious. I had a frozen Meals on Wheels lunch for dinner. Sweet and sour chicken.
