Mother-in-Law's New Haircut

We took the mother-in-law to lunch today after running errands with her and getting her hair cut and she got to see @FourWalls again. This time she said, "She's a pistol!" when @FourWalls left the table. That was funny.
Her hair turned out really well and she was happy with it.
But I want you to see the vacant look in her eyes. It's sad, isn't it?

It's sad. She was never a "happy go lucky" kind of person, always kind of bitter and negative, but it's sad to see her just "blanked out" like this. I asked her Tuesday if she liked macaroni and cheese and she said, "I don't know, do I?"

@LooeyVille My sister and I noted it on our last trip to Memphis/Nashville. That long, drawn face and stare into nowhere. One of the things I said to my sister about the disease is that is strips away one's joy. It's such a sad thing.

She looks very nice. Her look is sort of like a deer caught in headlights. I think if she had a friend living with her she would do fine,

Yes, I am a pistol! 
I don’t see that in my aunt yet. But I did see it in my other aunt (mom’s sister) when she started slipping.

Her hair looks pretty. It’s nice that you got to see Four Walls. Sadly I do recognize the vacant look in her eyes. My mama had it for a painfully long time.
