Hogwartz and Bambi.

Bambi was on the menu tonight in the form of a venison casserole, slow cooked and in a rich strong sauce with potatoes. On the way home, just as dusk was falling and night started to gather in, we saw a stag generously crowned with magnificent antlers. He stood still and proud, silhouetted against the darkening sky and around him about a dozen lady friends all come down to the shore from the hillside. Back at the house we sat a good while by the log fire looking out across the lough as the last traces of light in the western sky were extinguished after a final burst that coated the waters in a brief and eerie smaragdine sheen. It was a day of bridges. We accidentally drove past Glenfinnan viaduct made famous as the route taken by the Hogwartz Express of Harry Potter fame. A magnificent edifice indeed as it sits in its mystical majesty amongst barren hills. Since Harry Potter passed this way it has become a honey pot for snap-happy tourists and its grandeur has become cheapened and I feel sorry for it. It’s impossible now to photograph the bridge in its full glory without including an army of day-trippers, vulgar tour buses and mobile burger vans. So I found this other bridge in the middle of nowhere to photograph. It does look odd just sitting there in the empty countryside, but at least it’s able to enjoy its solitude.

I do not like venison. I ate it to avoid being impolite to the hostess, but it was not good to me. I really like your picture.

Are you J.K. Rowling? You write as if you are writing a book. Lol! It's a good one. You should write a story.

@rasmasandra Just sit and look out over the lough and hills - it’s very remote.

You were lucky to see the stag and his lady friends. The picture is lovely. The only venison I had I did not care for.
