A family who resides in Chicago Illinois are grateful that Chicago firefighters and police officers answered an emergency call of a house fire that happened on Thursday August 28 when a small dog was inside of a house that was on fire. The firefighters were able to save a small dog that was inside of a bedroom. The firefighters after they rescued the small dog and give the dog administrative oxygen to revive the dog. The reason that the owners of the dog were able to leave their home was because the smoked detectors did alert them to escape safely. Everyone was safe from a tragic ending due to the house fire thanks to the efforts of the firefighters and police officers risking their lives to rescue persons in need. It's so heartwarming to see a story with a happy ending. Those firefighters are true heroes for saving that little dog. This is also a perfect reminder of how important working smoke detectors are - they truly saved lives here. So glad everyone made it out safely.

@Deepizzaguy They truly do. It's one of those simple devices we often take for granted, but it makes all the difference in an emergency. A great reminder for everyone to test their detectors regularly.

Well, thank goodness the dog is okay. And I’ll try not to judge since they left the dog in the bedroom and left the home without it. Maybe the room was blocked by fire.

It was good that nobody including the dog were badly hurt in the fire, but they will have some emotional scars after such an incident too.
