Hello everyone. I hope your day is going well. It is 67 degrees F and sunny here at the Jersey Shore. I just looked at the 10-day forecast and it is going to get warmer in the coming days. Work was busy for me today. I spent the day grading papers. The students had an easy day. They just had to chill and watch a video about Typhoid Mary. Anyway I'm almost all caught up. I'm having a tough time keeping up with everything this year due to all of the moving from room to room. I was really tired when I got back here from the apartment so I did something I rarely do during the school year--I laid down and took a nap. My calves were swollen too so I wanted to be horizontal for that too. I don't feel like I actually slept but I must have because I was dreaming about troublemakers at work. Like it is bad enough I have to deal with them when I'm there but now they are invading my sleep too? The good news is that my legs were much better when I got up. So the reason for the nap is that tonight is Back to School night. I despise it. The last thing I want to do after working from 7-2pm is then return for 6-8pm. I honestly don't even see the point of it now that we have email, Google classrooms, Zoom, etc. The attendance has been way off over the past few years too. Anyway that's my big plan for tonight. I will be back here by 8:30pm which is later than I've been going to bed lately. It will take me awhile to unwind. I guess the good thing is that tomorrow is the professional development day so I don't have to be there until 8am. That gives me an extra hour or so of sleep. What's everyone else up to this afternoon and evening?

I am currently working on sharing news stories and completing surveys under a warm day.

I wouldn't want to go back to work, either. But I am glad to hear you grabbed a nap!

Ugh. That doesn’t sound right to have to turn around and come back.

A 67-degree sunny day at the Jersey Shore sounds absolutely perfect! It's no surprise work has been so draining with all that room switching—constantly moving between classrooms is physically and mentally exhausting, on top of the grading. Taking that nap was definitely the right call, even if work stress followed you into it. Swollen calves are no joke, so I'm glad resting helped. I totally hear you on Back to School night feeling outdated. It makes perfect sense when you have all those digital tools already in place. Hopefully, it goes quickly and smoothly tonight, and that extra hour tomorrow morning is a nice little silver lining to look forward to! As for me, I'm just settling in for the evening. Thanks for asking and hope the event is painless!

Getting ready for the retreat. Dinner will be ready shortly. Parents night at school used to be a favorite for me.
