United States Coast Guard in Islamorada sent patrol boats to locate two missing kayakers who went missing near the Florida Keys on Monday afternoon September 29. When the patrol boat could not find the missing kayakers, the Air Station Miami sent a helicopter to search for the missing kayakers. The helicopter found one of the missing kayakers clinging to his kayak at Baker's Cut which is located near the shore. The second kayaker was found 2,000 yards away in the shallow water flats. After both kayakers were rescued by the USCG, they were not injured and did not need medical attention. The USCG received an emergency from the relatives of the kayakers that they had not returned home as scheduled. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/...

Kayaking is harder than it seems. I'm glad no one was injured.

I'm glad the kayakers left a scheduled time with relatives; and I'm glad they were rescued and not injured.

That is a lot of resources used to rescue the kayakers, and I hope that next time they go out, the kayakers are more careful about their kayaking.
