Back from back to school night

The attendance was even lighter than it has been over the past few years. I had 4 parents in 1st period, 1 in 6th, and 2 in 8th. The whole thing reminds me of that classic work saying "this could have been an email". I did my spiel on double-speed for the last class so I could get out a few minutes early. 
I took a personal-sized chicken pot pie out of the freezer to defrost before I left. I usually keep one on hand for nights just like this when I'm tired, it is late, and I need something easy for dinner. It will be ready in about 25 minutes.
I hope I can get to bed by 10 but we shall see. It is usually a disaster on this night.

It’s over so now you can hopefully eat and rest.
Times have changed a lot. I used to make absolutely sure I attended every parent/teacher event there was. Do parents not care, or do they just not consider it important?
