I don't know how many times now my daughter has tried to quit smoking but she is going to again on her birthday, October 14th. She says she is "sick" of smoking. She doesn't like the way she feels and feels she is ready. I love hearing this and truly hope she can quit. She has been smoking since she was about 12 years old. That's a lot of years. She will also turn 54 in October, so I think that 42 years of smoking is quite enough. She is trying to chew nicotine gum instead of smoking and has cut down considerably.
I am excited but also am hopeful. She has tried many times. But this time she truly sounds like she feels it is time. I know her breathing and energy will go up a lot if she is able to accomplish this. I sure hope it can happen for her this time.
I'm rootin' for her.

Praying she succeeds. It’s an awful habit to get and even more difficult to break.

Thanks. Yes, and the longer she goes the harder it gets. I sure hope she can quit this time.

That's such wonderful and hopeful news!
The fact that this is her own decision and she sounds truly ready makes all the difference. Cutting down beforehand with the gum is a smart strategy. Having your unwavering support through all her attempts means everything. I'm rootin' for her right along with you!
