One thing about our life it's always changing. As the years pass by, we experience different things, some of our own making, others unexpected. It might be something simple, like learning a new hobby or activity, or it could be a life changing event, like the death of a loved one. But as Robert Frost summed it up "life goes on." If you're thinking about changes in your life some events, I seen suggested were travel, fitness, family, job or new discoveries/routines. Thinking about things that have changed for me over 5 years, I can share the following examples. 1. HOME REPAIRS ---I had my kitchen redone adding new cabinets, tiled backdrop, and range hood to replace old ones. I also am in the process of having patio doors put in and repairing the gutters adding guards to keep the leaves out. Owning an old home always requires maintenance doesn't it. 2. TECHNOLOGY ---I finally replaced my antiquated flip cell phone (yay) with a Motorola G Android model. Nothing fancy but a step up for sure. 3. HOBBY/ACTIVITY ---I was an avid tennis player and H.S. and College coach in my younger years, but older age and wear and tear finally caught up with me. So, I started playing PICKELBALL and really enjoy it. Lots less court to cover too. lol 4. FAMILY LOSS ---My dad passed away at 98. He lived a great life and stayed active playing golf until 93. I became his frequent golf partner over the years even though I was really bad. Dad was always encouraging to me when we played, and his enthusiasm for golf rubbed off on me. I miss him. He was not only a father but best friend too. 5. RENEWED RELATIONSHIPS ---My older brother bought the home my parents lived in to use as a summer retreat. He's semi-retired now and seeing him over each summer has brought us a lot closer together. As Michael J. Fox said, "Family is not an important thing. It's everything." In my case I found out that's true. So, there you go, 5 years and 5 new things. What changes/things can you come up with? ... Photo- Tiny Buddah

Huge changes. My husband passed away in January. After that I had all the projects done that he has been procrastinating about for years. I've now had to adjust to my life alone. I have a guy that redid my gravel drive asking me to dinner. Will that lead to more changes? Who knows?

@dgobucks226 Yes it was tough year with my husband in and out of the hospital and rehab. I felt so sorry for him every time he had to return to those awful rehab places. My friends here at MyLot are priceless.

Yes, you went through such a tragic journey with you husband's health. Glad you have a support system with relatives to help you through. And also, your connection with My Lot. Living alone must be a huge adjustment for you. Getting those projects done I'm sure provides you with some satisfaction.

Yes, although you have gone through he** and back looking for a new place to live. Hope you're comfortable in your new digs. The view from your apartment that you posted seems nice. One thing we notice that changes as we age is our health. All we can do is try to stay on top of it by taking the best care of ourselves as we can. Thanks for your kind words regarding my dad. I've noticed you haven't been posting lately. Looking forward to when you can find the time to do so again. Have a great day OT! Thanks for responding...

@RebeccasFarm Oh no, as my dad would say, "if you didn't have bad luck, you would have none at all."

Quite significant updates. I think in some terms, a lot has changed. In some terms, things are similar but not exactly same. I was staying in rented place then and now also, but gradually we are trying to get a home of our own. There are multiple challenges but somehow trying to find a way. I think I was into a more consistent and uniform walking routine. Now I am into more walking on some days and not so active on the others and primarily because: My official responsibilities & work has increased manifold over the years. It has been both exciting & challenging. Recently, I have got a new work responsibility and that means a bit more stress and work, but with increased avenues not only to do good for self but others as well. And well, I seem to have become a little more impatient and things sometimes seem more fast paced and unsettled. I am watching more of the Streaming networks although there are no fixed watch timings.

Good luck on finding a home. I think owning a home is a goal for many people. Trying to find time to juggle exercise with work responsibilities can be difficult at times. It definitely is something one needs to set aside a time to make room for. It does seem your happy with your recent work assignments. Since work is a necessity, it helps that you are finding it challenging yet rewarding too. Streaming can be a good diversion from unsettling events. It's a time to relax and not let things build up and get out of control. Thanks so much for sharing! I found you response interesting..

Besides being retired, I can't really think of anything major. I was five years younger, of course. lol

Well, retirement is a huge event in one's life. How have you adjusted? Do you substitute a new daily routine to replace your work one? Do you have new goals and plans. I know you have mentioned going camping before and you probably have more time to do your music, right?

@dgobucks226 I think I have adjusted well. I have always had "hobbies" like writing, playing around with music and other things, so it just turns out I have more time to pursue those things. We still like to travel, with or without the camper behind us.
