More Interesting Facts About Cats

I love the kitties. I have had them in my life all of my life. Here are a few more interesting facts I have found out about them: * If your cat is outdoors mostly, they are probably farsighted, and if they are indoor cats they are probably nearsighted. * Humans have 203 bones where cats have 230. * Our household cat pets share 95.6% of their genome (the complete set of material present in a cell) with tigers. * Most cats are lactose-intolerant, can only handle their mother's milk, and stop producing the enzyme needed to digest milk when they move on to solid food when they are kittens. * Their purr is actually healing. It vibrates at between 25 and 150 hertz which is the same frequency that aids with bone and muscle healing. * Cats show they trust you with two different gestures-- the but in face, and the laying on their backs with their bellies exposed. * The act of hissing isn't a show of aggression; it is actually showing fear and can be an indication that your cat is in pain.

There is different kinds of hisses and some actually comes in play, but cats so stubborn, its like you better let me win. I honestly do not like playing with the ones like that, they are indeed scary or make me jumpy. There is other cats who never hiss and are funny, they remind me more of dogs than cats. Those the coolest cats, They are one interesting creature. Thanks for the information. It makes me understand why they so confusing. I get why women love them, because I feel that way about women too , you all so confusing to me. Come on, that was funny.

They all have their individual personalities. Some are more doggish. Some just pounce with no warning too.

Very interesting. I remember my grandmother feeding some feral kittens with milk. That probably wasn't a good idea.

No. I didn't know for a long time that cats were lactose intolerant. I have been around cats all my life. But, we never fed them milk either.
