Firefighters with the St. Lucie Fire Department answered an emergency call on Saturday September 20 when a concerned citizen called the firefighters to inform them that she heard a dog crying from a ditch.
St. Lucie firefighter Caden Wilson located a small 14 year old dog trapped in the bottom of the ditch who could not get out.
Caden was able to get the dog out of the ditch and reunite the small dog with his or her owner safely.

That is true that older dogs have a hard time being in a shelter.

It's always heartwarming to read these rescue stories!
Thank goodness that concerned citizen was paying attention and that firefighter Caden Wilson was able to save the little dog. A perfect example of community and emergency services working together for a happy ending.

It was good that quick action saved that old dog quickly, as it would have been stressing stuck in a ditch.
