Do you speak off line on things that you write here?

I just wrote a post on vegetable puffs and cannot imagine calling up my niece and tell her that I had vegetable puffs for breakfast. She would go crazy and tell me that I pulled her out of whatever she was doing just to hear me tell her that. Most of what I say here I never share with my off line contacts. Imagine me calling out to my neighbour across the gate and tel her I had vegetable puffs for breakfast. What about you?

I share a lot of stuff here that I share with my friend, Mary. We have known each other since we were 6 and both retired. We haven't talked more than 2 hours here lately. We use to talk 3 or more hours atleast once a week.

Good that your friend Mary would be interested to know , for example, what you had for breakfast which is an important topic discussed here. My folks would never want to know that and surely not a topic of conversation

@Ghostlady Talking about recipes is different from telling your friends what you ate

@allknowing Here in the Southern USA ladies want to know what's for dinner. We talk about it because my friend might have a different way of fixing what I fixed the night before. I talk with other friends about recipes and what we had for dinner. Makes for a good conversation.

I never share anything I write about on here with anyone offline either.

If what we write is spoken off line it will not be of interest to any one

I think it varies for me. I definitely don’t share what I’m eating with people. I think they’d look at me like I was nuts.

What we talk about here is so different from what we normally share off line

Did you show your son the image of the vegetable puffs I had for breakfast?

The only person I might share what I write here is my daughter but I have had conversations with offline people about what I've read here. I've learned so many things that some I felt worthy to share.

Learning here and sharing that off line I suppose is what many do, including me.

I know what you mean ….but I guess most people on here use the site to talk about their day, including what they have eaten, and also to have a rant about things …..

Since I mostly respond to posts here, I rarely share them offline anymore. If I do post something here, I might have already shared it with someone and just retell it here. However, most of what I write here isn’t shared offline at all.

Of course I never told anything I wrote here and there is no point in telling it offline either.

@allknowing I hadn’t thought about this before, but you’re correct. I wonder why we think it’s ok to write such things here and offer them to the world, things we think aren’t big enough to talk about out loud.
