Out of Work and Busier than Ever

Hi friends, hope you are doing well today. I am in the process of making sure I get my vaccinations and checkups while I have some time and I still have good health insurance. I got my COVID booster and flu shot, and I have visited my podiatrist and orthopedist. Have an upcoming appointment for a mammogram and "well woman" exam with my gynecologist, and I'm thinking about seeing my dermatologist. I have also gone to some social things, run some errands and started catching up on housework and tv shows that have been sitting in the DVR.
I haven't thrown myself full-tilt into job-hunting, yet, but I have reactivated my tutoring account to say I'm accepting students again, and I have looked to see if there are positions at the community college I used to teach at. Meanwhile, I am starting to post more to my blogs, and I am currently working on a portrait commission, pictured here.

Sometimes, a break like this is needed to refocus yourself and see where you really want to be. Staying active is key, so if and when you get your next job... you're ready for it.

@AliCanary I think some retiries have the rightful concern they will wither, but if they stay active they can live long, productive lives.

Thank you! I am hoping to produce more artwork while I have a chance. There are gallery shows every month that I can submit pieces to, and I have one currently in a show.

I'm really appreciating the chance to get some things done, but it still feels very odd. I keep thinking every night is Friday, because I'm up later. Although it IS Friday today, lol
