Well, the pill crusher is back in action.

Like I mentioned yesterday, George planned on taking me to the va to pick up his meds. Surprisingly, He actually got his blood drawn. He hates as much as I do, and like me, waits until the last possible minute. I found it funny, George rode the golf cart to our van, and I wheeled myself. We got there at about the same time. I almost beat them. In fact, I'd just unlocked the van while George was being aided out of the golf cart. The pills are huge, so I have to break them down so he can eat them in chuncks. The pills are to large for the pill cutter, so I have to use a pill crusher. Haven't needed that thing in years.

I'm 42, and my doctors want me on a host of meds. I refuse to take ones I know I don't need.

@kaylachan You're still a youngster. My heart rate was 117 in the office on Thursday. My PCP said it's bad for my heart; so she's giving me a med to slow it down. The same med that my husband was on for his AFIB.

@LindaOHio I bet I know what that one is, too. Do you have a blood preasure cuff and know how to do it, yourself? I would take precautions before taking it. It led to my husband having a stroke. Or could've. When my husband's doctor gave it to us, we were told to monitor his blood preasure prior to taking it.

So does George, at least he knows when to tell me he doesn't want to try.

@LadyDuck I wish the pills weren't as big as they are. I couldn't get them in the cuutter, so it became the crusher. It worked and George gets his meds. I tried to use a knife to cut pills, I can't do it. Don't want to loose a finger.

@kaylachan - I know that my husband would not arrive to take big pills, I prefer to cut them first.

Sounds like a mortar and pestle is what is needed for this job.

Sounds like what I've heard called a "horse pill".

They are. and the dosage is on the high side, which is why it's so big.
