Does Your Kitty Show You His Affection?

When we have cats as pets, they get attached to us just like we do them. They follow us around the house or even bring home things they think we might enjoy. But there are also some other ways in which cats show their devotion and feelings for us. Here are a few:
* They have a way of locking eyes with us and giving a slow blinking. That is their way of saying they love us.
* They might also head-butt us playfully. It is called 'bunting' and it is because they have scent glands in their foreheads.
* Biting is also a way of showing their affection. It is not behavioral but mis-calibrated passion.
* Do you find for feline staring at you sometimes? This observation, adoration, and awareness bundled into one gaze.
* Are your cats sometimes waiting by the door for you? Cats can actually recognize your patterns, footsteps, and even car sounds.
Aren't cats amazing? I am always learning something new and interesting about them.

That’s such a cute cat in the picture!!!!
I’m very allergic to cats; however, a lot of the neighborhood cats hang out around my house. I make sure I have food for them. There’s one that I call Squeaky (that’s how she meows — with a squeak, not a purr or a meow — all the time), and she’s getting much more acclimated to me. She used to run when I’d walk out the door, but today she was relatively close when I emptied the can of food for her. (I didn’t make any move toward her, and I was talking to her the whole time…”How are you, Squeaky? Are you hungry?” Stuff like that.)

He's a rare breed. I did a post about them a few months ago. I read that that sort of squeak you described is a way they have of giving affection and attention to their owners. I think I can understand cats' meows and what they are trying to communicate sometimes.

Yes, they don't seem to get the idea that mom might trip over them.

Playful one, huh? They don't seem to get the sharp teeth idea.

@celticeagle One of my wife’s cats used to jump up on my lap when I came home from work every day, turn around, arch his back, lift his tail and fart in my face. Then he curled up, purred and fell asleep on me. My wife was annoyed that she was never thusly welcomed.

Good grief! They do have weird personalities at times it seems. I think they must have sick senses of humor at time it seems too.

Fred cat is right here. He says hello. All of the cats I have lived with have shown me their love. Or Fred thinks I am super warm and a great cushion to wrap himself around when I am sitting in my chair. It is a very tender moment when one of my guys noses my cheek. Beau Teak is needing the fluid removed from his chest again- I know because he sleeps very close to my face at night, his paw on me.

Most of the cats my relatives own just look at me when they go to the windows inside of my bedroom.

Cats can be pretty silly sometimes and a bit odd with their behaviors.

@celticeagle That is true since my late dad said that cats are very picky who they are friends with.

I love cats with all their oddities. I've always had them in my life. Don't know what I'd do with out them.

I've always had dogs; and they have similar "love language".

That's a cute cat in the picture. I am not a cat person and very allergic to cats. But I know that they are very intelligent creatures and can be affectionate. I had dogs as pets in past and some other animals too. I know that they have their ways to love us and show it to us.

That's a shame. People with allergies miss out on cute cats and their ways.
