I had to quickly pop into the supermarket on my way round to Moms this morning, I always have a trolley no matter how many or few items I need. I have enough trouble with carrying a handbag, and a shopping bag, and reaching for items …..and especially now with only one good arm at the moment.
Anyway, I got and paid for my items and headed to the traveltor …..
There was a bit of a queue , which is never a good sign. When I reached the top I realised that it had stopped.
Then I saw that there was an elderly lady that had fallen and got trapped. I think her clothes had also got caught which wasn’t going to help the issue of getting her up.
I had to wait for the lift.
A lady in the lift said that the elderly lady had been in a wheelchair, and had fallen forwards and out of the wheelchair onto the travelator.
I had to get my bus so I couldn’t wait and check if she was okay. I hope that she was.

I will ask when I go in next ,
Yes it’s like an escalator except with an escalator there are ….kind of steps …..if that makes sense. With a travelator it is all one level ….suitable for trolleys etc …..although maybe NOT wheelchairs !

@traceyjayne If the lady was anything like my parents she decided not to take the lift in case someone else needed it! My parents were a nightmare that way. When at 80+ my mother fell in the house and couldn’t get up so they decided to call an ambulance, but put it off till later because it was tea time and they didn’t want to disturb the ambulance drivers at their meal. Another time my father drove her to hospital for an appointment and parked in a disabled space at the front door. He got her out of the car and propped her up against the wall then moved the car into the main car park in case someone else needed the disabled space! I know this because I drove past the hospital and saw my mother propping up the wall like something drunk. I gave up trying to explain things eventually.

Yes, there is no talking to some people . In a way it’s nice they are so thoughtful of others, but the. Again, would others take such extreme action if it were the other way round.

That doesn't sound too good at all. My balance is slowly getting worse and worse and I need to be much more careful than I once was.
