Fortune Tellers and Channelers do you believe?

So, I had mentioned that I went to a Halloween party yesterday. Most of us were wearing a costume or some portion of one. One of my friends in the group is this very nice older lady, the one who I have mentioned on here before, she doesn't go to doctors or take medicine. Anyway, She was dressed a fortune teller and started talking about it with another woman. Apparently, she had gone to fortune tellers and channelers in the past. One of them told her correctly one of her children would die, and he did. This was someone not even sick at the time. Terrible thing to hear, I am not sure I would go to a fortune teller just for that reason. They also told her that she would come near death a few times, and that happened to her. Coincidence? Ideas planted in the head? I mean maybe your own health state or medical issues could be communicated by your palm, but correctly stating about a child that would pass away who wasn't ill...freaky..and supernatural.Do you know anything about any of these issues?

I think that some people have ancient powers that we have lost through the centuries. Just for a joke, I wanted to predict the future to a friend (I used Tarots). As I did not like at all what I saw, I did not tell everything and pretended I could not read the cards. Sadly what I saw happened. I never wanted to use those Tarots again.

So, what you saw came to pass then...Yikes!! I have some tarot cards in my storage locker. My hubby at the time knew how to read them..but I never learned. Part of the occult I guess.

@snowy22315 - I was scared. I had several premonitory dreams during my life, some were so precise that they looked like movies. I also felt when someone I knew was in danger or had a problem. My grandmother was like me.

@LadyDuck I remember you saying. I have had some brushes with those kinds of experiences in the past, although not routine.

There are a lot of people here who practice witchcraft. I don't know what to think about it. I used to believe that some people can predict someone's future, but I think it all comes from the devil.

It is part of the "dark arts" and the occult, I believe.

@Nevena83 If I went to one, I think I would tell them, I want only to be told things that are positive.

@snowy22315 Yes, I agree with you. I don't think we should play with such things.

I don’t believe in any of it. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I don't know anything about them really but I've heard that some really do seem to know to be able to see into the future.

now this is something which I am neutral about - at times I have seen truth to these predictions, and sometimes it turned out to be pure bluff...but for those who really could read your future, knows the craft well enough

@snowy22315 it is also a subject of study & hence the gift is acquired by virtue of right interpretations...

I have heard of fortune tellers but I do not do business with them since I do not like bad news at all.
